1935 : Archives Museum opened. Dr. B.S. Baliga, the First Trained Archivist in India took charge of the Madras Record Office.

In G.O.No.1986, Education Department,dated 16.10.1946, instructions relating to the introduction of regional language as medium of instruction in Government Colleges, were issued.
