1916 : Mr. Dodwell's Report on the Madras Records Printed.

In G.O.No.158,Public Department, dated 03.03.1906,it was ordered that the nomenclature of "Black Town" in the then Madras(now Chennai),be changed to "George Town".

பயன்தூக்கிப் பண்புரைக்கும் பண்பின் மகளிர்
நயன்தூக்கி நள்ளா விடல்.

விளக்கம் : கிடைக்க கூடிய பயனை அளந்து பார்த்து, அதற்கு ஏற்றவாறு இனிய சொல் கூறுகின்ற பண்பற்ற பொது மகளிரின் இன்பத்தை ஆராய்ந்து பொருந்தாமல் விட வேண்டும்.
