2007 : Toothukudi District Gazetteer released. Renovation of Research Hall and Administrative Block. Purchase of lockers to Research Hall. National Archives of India and Tamil Nadu Archives jointly conducted workshop on preservation practices. Exhibition on Madras Day in collaboration with British Scholar Association conducted. Library additional floors construction started.

In G.O.No.81, Public Department, dated 11.01.1969, usage of the term "State of Tamil Nadu" instead of "State of Madras" was ordered. In G.O.No.1333, Public Department, dated 10.06.1970,usage of the term "Chennai" instead of "Madras" was ordered.
